Rest, Reunion and Tables

  • What did you do last weekend to rest?

    • Reunion has always taken “Rest Weeks” on long weekends to allow our crew the guilt free pleasure of doing whatever they want. We believe gathering for worship is important but so is sabbath.

  • Have you ever felt guilt or pressure to be in church on Sundays.

    • Is that pressure/expectation ever a good thing and why?

    1. Does our Rest rhythm address this for you?

    2. What does Sabbath mean to you?

  • Did you know we believe our Tables are small churches?

    • Take a few moments to list what people believe makes a church a church

      • Does our Table reflect this list? How about Sundays?

  • Read Hebrews 10:23-25

    • What stands out to you from this little list of “church characteristics?”

      1. The author isnt providing all the necessary elements to a church but does highlight a few. Church ought to:

        • Help one another hold tight to hope

        • Motivate one another to acts of love and good works

        • Encourage one another

      2. How might this list take shape or be applied in your group?

  • Is there anything you’d like to see take place at Tables to help your apprenticeship to Jesus

    • More time to discuss the teachings of Jesus

    • More time to reflect on how we’ve been applying the teachings/practices of Jesus?

    • Anything else?
